About Us
The Best Birth and Wellness Clinic in Dallas
This collaborative was birthed out of a few dreams and a long, hard labor. We invite you into our community and our hearts.
Midwife Amy
Owner, LM, CPM
Midwife Amy has worked in supporting women as a doula, birth assistant, lactation counselor and midwife for over 20 years. She grew up in the birth world. She and her brothers were born at home. Her mother was a La Leche League Leader and taught childbirth education classes for a midwife in Austin in the early 70’s. Amy began training as a midwife in 1990 after her first two sons were born at home. After her first husband passed away from mental illness, she stepped away from midwifery and worked as a successful business manager. Her lifelong passion drew her back to midwifery to complete her clinical training in 2013. In 2018 Amy opened her own practice that merged with Origins to become Origins Birth and Wellness-Dallas, where she lovingly grew and ran the practice for 4 years as the onsite owner, Midwife and Clinical Director. In 2021, she left Origins and formed Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness Collaborative, a small boutique midwifery practice that can tailor care to each family.
Amy has been married to her husband Jim for 23 years and has 4 sons. She is a long time resident of Old East Dallas.

Midwife Sabrina
LM, CPM
“I grew up in Lubbock as the daughter of a farmer and was homeschooled by my mom who had taught childbirth classes when I was a little girl. We moved to Abilene for my husband’s job and it was my home for 19 years. After the birth of my 5 children, I knew that I wanted to support women during their pregnancy and birth. I became the first doula in my community and after 8 years of doula work, I became discouraged and disappointed for these families. Having 5 children at home that I was currently homeschooling I knew it would be challenging, but my heart was being called to midwifery. I chose the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program and began my education. About 9 months later, I began my apprenticeship in downtown Dallas while living in Abilene. I was trained by two Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) and three Certified Professional Midwives (CPM). I feel this gave me a well-rounded perspective in caring for your growing family. One of those was Amy Tate who was a fellow student in my apprenticeship and then became one of my instructors. SInce I finished school, I started a home birth practice in Abilene and have dreamt of the day of coming back here to Dallas to work with my now friend, Amy, and now that my children are all grown and living their own lives, it is time! Happy to be here!”
